RAISING AWARENESS TO PRESERVE OUR BEAUTIFUL PLANET
he causes of the environment and ecology are increasingly tackled in recent years. Despite major awareness campaigns aimed at changing attitudes and behaviors in favor of more responsible actions, much remains to be done. Communicating about the problems of global warming and the environmental emergency will not be enough, because it is indeed the real actions that will demonstrate their effectiveness in the long term.
IMPORTANCE OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Initiated a few decades ago, the concept of sustainable development encourages a so-called “eco-responsible” lifestyle and consumption, both at the individual and collective level.
Concretely, being eco-responsible involves integrating the issue of the environment into its decision-making and purchasing intentions. It also means taking into account more favorable economic and social dimensions.
This responsible consumption therefore takes into account all the criteria of sustainable development: more respectful of the environment, more beneficial for the local economy and more positive for society. We can then ask ourselves how to be eco friendly on an individual scale? What ecological gestures to adopt and encourage?
- Consume better, greener products, manufactured and transported under conditions that minimize their impact on the environment.
- Use less energy in your daily life by pooling what can be done (for example with the rise of carpooling or eco-driving), but also by consuming new green energy and bio energy.
- Waste less and better by encouraging selective sorting and recycling of its waste, see zero waste for those most aware.
Sustainable development therefore implies more the responsibility of the consumer, but also the environmental responsibility of companies, more or less sensitive to these principles. Sustainable development aims to create a more respectful framework around the activities of industries and companies, by modifying working conditions, production and supply methods, transport methods, etc. An eco-responsible transformation of companies which is still uncertain and many efforts can still be made.
